What Your Production Should Know About Paid Family Leave
Several states allow employees to receive partial pay when taking time off from work to take care of a sick family member or bond with a child.
Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave
Massachusetts employers will likely have new responsibilities under the new Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) law, which took effect October 1, 2019. The Massachusetts Paid Family Leave Guide outlines how to prepare for those responsibilities through the first quarterly reporting due date in January 2020.

California Paid Family Leave
California Paid Family Leave (PFL) provides up to six weeks of partial pay to employees who take time off from work to care for a seriously ill family member or to bond with a new child (including newly fostered and adopted children).

New York Paid Family Leave
As of January 1, 2019, eligible employees in New York can file for up to 10 weeks of Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits to bond with a child, care for a loved one with a serious illness, or assist at home when a family member is called into active duty.

Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave
The state of Washington began requiring employers to collect and remit Paid Family and Medical Leave contributions in 2019, with benefits available to employees starting January 1st, 2020.
