'Anora' Joins Ranks of GreenSlate-Backed Oscar Best Picture Winners

With the Oscars behind us, it’s a wrap on another successful award season for our client projects. Anora started the night at the Oscars with six nominations and swept the night with a whopping five wins.
🏆 BEST PICTURE
🏆 ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE - Mikey Madison
🏆 DIRECTING - Sean Baker
🏆 FILM EDITING - Sean Baker
🏆 WRITING (ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY) - Written by Sean Baker
Anora’s Sean Baker also made history with four Oscar wins, tying Walt Disney’s record for the most Oscars in a single year, and GreenSlate client project A Real Pain took home a win for Actor In A Supporting Role for Kieran Culkin.
Leading up to the Oscars, Anora received the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures at this year’s PGA Awards and Best Feature, Best Director, and Best Lead Performance wins at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Anora joins the ranks of Oscar history-making GreenSlate client projects, including CODA, Nomadland, and Moonlight. GreenSlate client projects have taken home four of the last nine Best Picture wins.
In 2022, CODA, was the first motion picture starring a predominantly Deaf cast in leading roles to win Best Picture, Troy Kotsur was the first Deaf male actor to win Best Supporting Actor, and writer-director Siân Heder earned her first-ever Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. It was also the first Best Picture win for a streaming service. In 2021, Nomadland’s Chloé Zhao became the first non-white woman to win Best Director.
We love celebrating and recognizing our client project wins and we can't wait to see what they make next. 💚

“If you're not using GreenSlate for processing production payroll, then you're not thinking clearly. We run about 10–12 productions a year and have used several of their competitors. I've put off sharing this as I've truly felt they've been a competitive advantage.”
