Client Project “CODA” Makes History with Multiple Wins at The Oscars
Client project “CODA” made Oscar history on Sunday night, landing three Academy Awards with wins for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur, and Best Adapted Screenplay for Siân Heder. The winners were revealed at the 94th Annual Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
“CODA,” the story of Ruby, the sole hearing member of a Deaf family being torn between the obligations she feels to her family and the pursuit of her own dreams, is the first motion picture starring a predominantly Deaf cast in leading roles to win Best Picture. Troy Kotsur is the first Deaf male actor to win Best Supporting Actor, and writer-director Siân Heder earned her first-ever Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Distributed by Apple TV+, it is also the first Best Picture win for a streaming service.
Congratulations to the entire “CODA” team!
