The Best Film Networking Events: 2026 Calendar

    Updated 7.13.26

The professionals who get the most out of industry events aren't the ones working the room with business cards. They're the ones who already know half the people there because they showed up last quarter too.

That's the real insight: the film industry's informal relationship infrastructure runs on consistent presence, not single-event sprints. A line producer you meet at a PGA mixer in March isn't going to hand you a deal on the spot. But when she's staffing a limited series in September, you want to already be a name she recognizes. That's how this works.

GreenSlate connects production finance teams and producers across hundreds of productions annually. We're in the room at a lot of these events, and we've built this calendar to be genuinely useful to the production accountants, coordinators, supervisors, line producers, and department heads who are our people.

The Organizations Running the Best Recurring Events

    IATSE

If you're in the production finance world, you're almost certainly IATSE. The union's local structure means there are events happening across every major market, not just LA and New York. IATSE's event calendar covers mixers, educational seminars, and local union meetings. Don't sleep on the seminars — they're where you'll find working department heads who have actual hiring influence, not just assistants who were sent to "network."

Find your local here. Many locals have their own event calendars beyond what's listed on the main site.

    Producers Guild of America (PGA)

The PGA isn't a union — it represents the producing side of the house, which for our purposes means the people who hire production accountants and approve payroll vendors. Their event mix includes regular Morning Mingles, regional Happy Hours, and working group events for specific constituencies (LGBTQ+, AAAP, etc.). Most require PGA membership, but if you work closely with the producing team, the annual dues are easy to justify. See their upcoming events here.

    Film Independent

More skewed toward creative talent, but Film Independent runs a steady calendar of member screenings with filmmaker Q&As — which are some of the best rooms in LA for meeting working directors and producers without the transactional energy of a straight-up mixer. Most events are in Los Angeles, with some virtual programming.

    Gotham Film & Media Institute

New York's anchor for independent film support and networking. Their Peer-to-Peer Meet-Ups are low-pressure, organized by format (narrative vs. documentary), and specifically built for meaningful connection rather than broadcast pitching. The flagship event is Gotham Week in the fall.

Women in Film / Women in Media

Two distinct organizations, both worth knowing. Women in Film and Women in Media each run their own event calendars targeting gender equity in entertainment. Both are active in LA with some national reach. The annual WIM Holiday Toast in December is a genuine industry institution.

    GreenSlate Events

We host our own mixers specifically for production finance and accounting professionals. Follow our LinkedIn page for announcements. We also run periodic webinars, Q&As, and training classes that are useful for production accountants looking to stay current on payroll, compliance, and platform updates.

    Online Communities Worth Monitoring

These Facebook groups are where production accountants and coordinators actually talk shop — and where you'll sometimes see events posted before they make it to Eventbrite:

    LA Production Accountants (5,700 members)

Line Producers & Film Accountants (9,300 members)

    NY Production Accountants (3,900 members)

    Atlanta Production Accountants (2,400 members)

    Louisiana Production Accountants (1,200 members)

    London Production Accountants (2,600 members)
