Comedy Series Starring Abby McEnany Coming to Showtime in December
Work In Progress, an eight-episode ‘uniquely human comedy series,’ is scheduled to premiere on Showtime on Sunday, December 8 at 11PM ET/PT.
Abby (McEnany) is a 45-year-old self-identified fat, queer dyke whose misfortune and despair unexpectedly lead her to a vibrantly transformative relationship.
McEnany, who co-created the show with pilot director Tim Mason, is a mainstay of the Chicago improv scene, where her one-woman shows became the foundation for the series. The series also stars Theo Germaine, Karin Anglin, Julia Sweeney, and Celeste Pechou.
Showtime acquired the project after the Sundance premiere of the pilot this year. McEnany and Mason executive produce alongside Lilly Wachowski; Lawrence Mattis, Ashley Berns and Josh Adler of Circle of Confusion; and Tony Hernandez of Jax Media.

“If you're not using GreenSlate for processing production payroll, then you're not thinking clearly. We run about 10–12 productions a year and have used several of their competitors. I've put off sharing this as I've truly felt they've been a competitive advantage.”
