Apple TV+ Releasing Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie Film in March

“The Banker” will arrive on Apple TV+ on March 20.

Inspired by real events, the film follows resourceful businessmen Bernard Garrett (Anthony Mackie) and Joe Morris (Samuel L. Jackson) as they take on the racially oppressive establishment, helping other African-Americans secure bank loans to build capital and become homeowners. They enlist a working-class white man (Nicholas Hoult) to pose as the rich and privileged face of their growing real estate and banking empire until the federal government takes notice, threatening to unravel their entire operation.

In addition to Jackson and Mackie, the film also stars Nicholas Hoult and Nia Long. The drama is produced by Joel Viertel and Brad Feinstein, under his Romulus Entertainment banner, along with producers George Nolfi, Nnamdi Asomugha, Jonathan Baker, David Lewis Smith, and Anthony Mackie. The executive producers are Joseph F. Ingrassia, Samuel L. Jackson, Will Greenfield, David Gendron, and Ali Jazayeri. “The Banker” is written by Niceole Levy, George Nolfi, David Lewis Smith, and Stan Younger from a story by David Lewis Smith, Stan Younger, and Brad Caleb Kane.
