For MGM produced American Fiction, Cord Jefferson won Best Adapted Screenplay and Da'Vine Joy Randolph took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Focus Features' The Holdovers.

Robert Downey Jr. won his first Oscar for Supporting Actor in Oppenheimer, Wes Anderson won his first for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar in the Live Action Short category, and John Cena appeared nude on stage, for whatever that's worth.
Oppenheimer was the big winner this year with 7 Oscars including including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actor, Cinematography, Film Editing, and Original Score.
