Big Things on the Horizon for Buzzed-About "Boy Erased"

Keep an eye out for “Boy Erased,” starring Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, and Russell Crowe, in theaters this fall. The film’s trailer, viewed over five million times since its release on July 17^th, is already generating awards season buzz, foreshadowing big success.

Adapted from Garrard Conley’s “Boy Erased: A Memoir,” the film features Hedges (an Academy Award nominee who is no stranger to awards season accolades having starred in both “Lady Bird” and “Manchester By the Sea”) as Jared Eamons, a boy from a small southern town who faces a choice when outed to his parents: attend a conversion therapy program or have his family turn their backs on him indefinitely.

Kidman and Crowe (both Academy Award winners) star as Jared’s parents. Director, writer, and producer Joel Edgerton also makes an appearance in the film. Edgerton is best known for his on-screen roles in “Loving,” “Red Sparrow,” and “It Comes at Night.”

While it is still early – the movie won’t be released in the U.S. until November 2^nd – the buzz surrounding “Boy Erased” brings promise of a busy awards season.
